    Big Easy Summer

    We asked Matthew Hinton to photograph a New Orleans Recreation Development Commission camp and the surrounding hurricane-ravaged Treme neighborhood for a cover story examining the city’s efforts at preventing summer learning loss. We were thrilled when he emailed this photo after his first shoot. “Is this image, kind of what you are looking for?” he asked. It certainly was.
